Platinum Apartments COVID-19 Policy

 

This Covid-19 Policy has been written by the owners of Platinum Apartments Pty Ltd for the use within the business, known as Platinum Apartments. The purpose and aim of this policy is to maintain public safety for all people entering the apartments either as an employee, guest or trade worker. This policy is written based on the recommendations of Safe Work Australia, Victorian Tourism Industry Council, Travel Victoria, Government Recommendations and Owner Experience.

Not only will this policy help reduce the spread and cross-contamination of Covid-19, but also other illnesses such as influenza, gastroenteritis and other highly contagious illnesses within our community.

The intent of this Plan is not to alarm anyone or cause panic. This is a plan in the event of an employee, guest/s or visitors being diagnosed with COVID-19 and following our Business Continuity Plan.

Our guiding principles as we continue to move forward are:

  1. Keep Platinum Apartment employees, guests and other people who visit safe
  2. Continue to serve our customers with the highest of standards
  3. Do our part to slow community spread of the virus where there appears to be outbreaks, so that the most vulnerable people are able to get the care they need.

How COVID-19 spreads:

When someone who has COVID-19 coughs or exhales they release droplets of infected fluid. Most of these droplets fall on nearby surfaces and objects – such as desks, tables or telephones. People could catch COVID-19 by touching contaminated surfaces or objects – and then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. If they are standing within one meter of a person with COVID-19 they can catch it by breathing in droplets coughed out or exhaled by them.

In other words, COVID-19 spreads in a similar way to flu. Most people infected with COVID-19 experience mild symptoms and recover. However, some go on to experience more serious illness and may require hospital care. Risk of serious illness rises with age: people over 40 seem to be more vulnerable than those under 40. People with weakened immune systems and people with conditions such as diabetes, heart and lung disease are also more vulnerable to serious illness.

The following checklist is our guidelines in the case that you as an employee suspect you may have COVID-19. Or, that a family member has become infected with COVID-19, a household member or anyone you have been in contact with. 

 

ALL PEOPLE STAYING, VISITING OR WORKING WITHIN PLATINUM APARTMENTS:

The guidelines within this section of the policy are to be abided by all people who visit Platinum Apartments Properties for any purpose. This is not limited to, but includes:

  • Employees
  • Guests
  • Building Staff
  • Trade workers and other visiting businesses
  • Family & Friends of owners
  • Family & Friends of guests

All people must:

Abide by current day government regulations and restrictions associated with the public health control measures when onsite.

  • You must provide the contact details of all visitors or guests coming into the building.
  • Are to stay home and not attend work, holidays or visits to the building if feeling unwell, running temperatures or any signs and symptoms associated with Covid-19.
  • Ensure social distancing practices are adhered to
  • Use sanitiser allocated at each door location.
  • Ensure hand washing occurs before entering any communal/shared space at Platinum Apartments. This is not limited to, but includes:  
    • Lobby / Entrance Areas
    • Elevators
    • Building Mail-room
    • Building Facilities / Toilets
  • Respect Managements discretion at all times and the decisions made to ensure public health and safety is maintained at an optimum level and that the business suffers no adverse repercussions due to a Covid-19 outbreak.
  • No excessive drinking that may impair judgment in regards to behaviour and the ability to social distance responsibly.
  • Report any positive Covid-19 test result to Platinum Management immediately to ensure the associated health bodies can be notified and any tracking be completed.
  • No mass social gatherings, all apartment guests must abide by VIC regulations in relation to the number of people in a residence at any time.
  • No self-isolating within Platinum Apartments Pty Ltd properties
